Rejoice on Repeat
Pastor Gaylon Clark teaches that rejoicing in the Lord is a continual choice to center one’s mind, meaning, and daily focus on Christ rather than on circumstances, accomplishments, or emotions. True rejoicing is not denial of pain or forced positivity, but a “sacred mindfulness” that stays aware of God’s presence and purposes in every moment. Using Paul’s imprisonment as an example, he shows that we can rejoice even in adversity because God is actively working through our difficult, unwanted situations. Finally, he urges us as believers to value Christ above personal achievements, people’s approval, or conflicts, allowing joy in the Lord to reshape our perspective and guide our relationships.
