Stand Sunday: ONE DAY. ONE VOICE. ONE PURPOSE
Stand Sunday: A Call to Action for Vulnerable Children and Families
In 2002, Bishop Aaron Blake, Sr. launched the first “Stand Sunday” in the United States, rallying his church in Brownwood, Texas, to care for children and families impacted by the child welfare system.
Join us on Stand Sunday, November 10, as we unite in prayer and commitment to support children in foster care. This day reminds us of our responsibility to care for vulnerable children and families, providing the love and support they desperately need. During the service, we’ll explore how our church family can take tangible steps to make a difference in the lives of those affected by foster care.
Today, churches nationwide stand together on Stand Sunday to challenge inaction and bring hope to children and families facing abuse, abandonment, and neglect. Be part of this mission—join us on November 10 to learn how you can help create change.
Everyone is Invited to a Special Movie Night: Sound of Hope
Join us on Thursday, November 14, at 7 pm for a powerful screening of Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot. This film tells the incredible story of a community’s unwavering commitment to care for vulnerable children and families.
Everyone is welcome! We invite churches across the city, teachers, community members, and anyone with a heart for helping others to come together for this inspiring event. After the movie, meet Bishop Blake and others leading the charge to make a difference. Don’t miss this evening of hope, inspiration, and community. We look forward to seeing you there!
