As we began 2020 with our RESTART theme we had determined to go back to where we started, relearning what we already know, and falling in love with Jesus all over again. We are so glad God gave us this theme. Yet with COVID-19 we have been forced to see RESTART in a completely different light. We never imagined we would have to RESTART like this and yet we believe in the sovereignty of God and we believe there is something redemptive in this moment.

How can we RESTART together in this season?

  • Rest physically. God wants to give us the opportunity to rest emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
  • Refocus on your faith. What is it that God has been speaking to you about? What dreams has God asked you to pursue? What challenges has God wanted you to address.
  • Reconnect with your family. This is an opportunity to play games as a family, take walks together, and even binge watch
  • Reflect and rethink your future. Use this time as an opportunity to audit your spiritual and personal goals.

With social distancing and reduced community interaction it is important to stay connected. If we can't get together physically we can still connect in creative ways. Join us for all of our services and engage in our online community. Look for opportunities to love and care for others with the love that Christ has shown to us.

Even as we’re unable to gather as a church, stay connected to the church family through calls, texts, or other digital platforms. Continue to grow as a follower of Jesus by engaging with online content. Pray for and encourage one another without ceasing.

Join us for online church: Sunday Worship Experience and Wednesday Bible Study. Our church service is LIVE at 10 am each Sunday, with a rebroadcast at 12 pm. Wednesday Bible study starts at 7 pm.

As the coronavirus (COVID-19) affects everyday life throughout Austin and the rest of the world, we want to let you know how Greater is responding.

We are so grateful that we live in a time that technology affords us the opportunity to connect with our church family through streaming and social media platforms. Until the virus is under control, this is how our services will be experienced. This page will serve as the primary, most up-to-date place for you to get answers to commonly asked questions in this season. Please know we are committed to doing everything we can to create a safe environment for our church family and the surrounding community.

This phased approach to re-opening will follow CDC and local health department guidelines and guidance from The Governor of Texas for reopening Texas.

Our current operations have the most restrictions and requirements in place to do our part to contain the spread of the virus through strict social distancing, and hygiene protocols. No gathering of the church or staff is allowed except for the production of our online services, assembly of emergency food boxes, and the food pantry. We will be updating our emergency operations to include COVID-19 procedures, purchasing cleaning equipment and supplies needed prior to reopening, and completing a full building assessment for cleaning and disinfecting the facility before and after each service.

Throughout each phase we are monitoring the rate of infections, hospitalizations rates, and the rate of deaths in our area to see if these remain steady, decline or unfortunately peak again.

Reopening FAQs

We are confident that God will protect us physically and develop us spiritually through this trial. There is no need to panic or fear. God is with us! Let’s claim the promises of Psalm 91:1-3.

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
This I declare about the Lord:
He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
he is my God, and I trust him.
For he will rescue you from every trap
and protect you from deadly disease.
