For August, we will be focusing on Service! Greater Women has connected with Partnerships for Children (PfC) for our August Service Project!
PfC’s Mission is to make tomorrow better than today by supporting and empowering children, youth, and families involved with Child Protective Services. Providing necessities to children and families is just one of the ways that PfC provides support and it is by way of donations from our community and their partners. The Rainbow Room Warehouse is where PfC shelves all of their donation items, working the Rainbow Room is one of many volunteer opportunities PfC offers to organize and shelve donation items.
Often times, when children in CPS are moved around or placed/replaced in home settings, they may not get to take any accumulated items with them to their next location. Getting a snack and a drink may sound simple, but, for a child waiting at a CPS office for their next placement, it can fulfill a very basic need in that moment.
Greater Women, let’s be the hands and feet of Jesus and bless these children and families, by collecting the following items Tuesday thru Thursday this week @ GMZ, during regular business hours, and Wednesday evening Bible Study, look for the big donation box in the Church Lobby by drive thru entrance:
1. Male and female black hair care products: conditioners, shampoos, leave in conditioners, gels, creams, puddings, mouse, combs, brushes, pony tails holders, clips, ribbons, bonnets, wraps, braiding hair, hair extensions, flat irons, etc.!
2. Mini sized packaged water bottles
