Salvation Army Angel Tree & Love Our City

Sign up for an Angel starting November 7. All gifts are due November 28.

“It’s a fact that “pandemic poverty” is far from over, as 7.1 million Americans are currently behind on the rent, and at least 20 million Americans don’t have enough food to eat. This year, Greater Mount Zion is partnering with the Salvation Army to help Austin children and families in need. Through the Salvation Army Angel Tree program, we will provide new clothing and toys to children and families in need this year. The process is super simple – we have committed to support at least 30 children, which are known as Angels. Once a child is assigned as a GMZ Angel, our members, families, ministries, and small groups can simply pick a name tag off the Angel Tree located in the lobby to sponsor an Angel. Then, follow the printed instructions and use the information provided, such as the gender of the child, age, sizes, and favorite colors to shop for gifts and clothing. When the shopping is done, make sure you do not wrap the gifts, and drop them off at GMZ in the red mesh gift bag provided at signup. The Greater Reach ministry will work with the Salvation Army to pick up and distribute all the gifts to the assigned families. Ready to sign up and support an Angel? Here are some important dates you need to know: sign up will start Sunday November 7th. Once you receive the information about your Angel, you can immediately start shopping. All gifts must be brought to GMZ on Saturday or Sunday, November 30th or 31st – unwrapped – and in the red mesh gift bag that will be given to you at signup. We need your support to help us make the level of impact we are known for throughout the city during this holiday season. If you have any questions, please contact Alexis Horn at 512-799-1695.”
